David Beckham may have bagged People’s Sexiest Man Alive award – but, with the help of his family, he’s staying grounded.
The former football star told People of winning the award: ‘We kind of laughed about it with the boys and the boys kind of laughed at me and said, “Really?! Sexiest man alive? Really?”‘

Meanwhile, 16-year-old son Brooklyn was convinced they had the wrong man! ‘Brooklyn was the one who was like, “Are you sure it’s not me that’s meant to be there today?”‘ We’re sure the handsome youngster will follow in his dad’s footsteps one day…
David is proud to have won the award: ‘It’s a huge honor and I’m very pleased to accept.’ However, he admits that he doesn’t feel deserving: ‘I never feel that I’m an attractive, sexy person. I mean I like to wear nice clothes and nice suits and look and feel good, but I don’t ever think of myself that way.’ Posting the People cover on his Instagram, he wrote a caption starting ‘I thought I was past my sell by date…’ We certainly disagree, David!

However, the person he is most happy to impress is wife Victoria – who TOTALLY agreed with People’s choice. ‘I would hope that she feels this way about me all the time anyway! But she said, “Congratulations!”‘ Aww, this is ADORBS. It makes us all warm to fuzzy to think how in love this pair are after 16 years of marriage.
Rest assured, David – at 40, you’re still more than deserving of the amazing title!
