David Beckham met Stephen Hawking – and what followed is the stuff of showbiz dreams
As if it isn’t enough that we live in a showbiz world where the likes of David and Victoria Beckham can meet famous scientist Stephen Hawking; the universe (which we’re pretty sure is controlled by Stephen, anyway) went and provided us with THIS gem of a celebrity moment: Stephen telling David that he’s ‘always being compared’ to the retired footballer.
Oh, to be there for that encounter.
Proud David shared a picture on Instagram of his meeting with Hawking, captioning the snap: ‘It was an absolute honour to meet Professor Hawking. What he said to me was truly amazing.’
David then shared another pic of a close up of the professor’s screen, which showed the words: ‘I’m always being compared to you as a British icon and sometimes you rate higher and sometimes I do’.
Er, you’re right David. That is amazing. On so many levels.
Victoria was positioned by David‘s side throughout the meeting, with a supportive hand placed on his shoulder. The fashion guru, dressed in a tight black dress with her hair hanging loosely down, also looked on at Stephen‘s screen with a subtle grin (probably the biggest you’re going to get from notoriously straight-faced Posh).
The couple recently enjoyed a break to Marrakech for David‘s 40th birthday and looked super loved-up in their holiday snaps.
Since returning, David has been spotted enjoying days out with gorgeous daughter, Harper, at Primrose Hill, where the little one enjoyed an ice cream. Aww!
The only way we could love this family more is if they became best mates with someone unexpected like a super-scientist… Oh wait. YEP, we love them.
