David Beckham has spoken out about his son not wanting to play football because of the pressure he feels.

Being a member of David Beckham‘s offspring comes with a price. And no- that price is not guaranteed top notch DNA…
David Beckham has spoken out about his heartache in regard to his son not wanting to play football on account of the pressure he feels.
Becks, who is a dad to four, recently spoke to ABC news, telling them ‘I’d love [my children] to play soccer, but I want them to be happy doing it, you know’.
He continued, ‘One of my boys turned around to me the other day, he said, ‘Daddy, you know, I’m not sure I want to play football all the time…’ It broke my heart a little bit’.
And if that didn’t hit you hard enough in the feels (you tough cookie, you), the 40-year-old then elaborated ‘he said, ‘Every time that I step onto the field, I know people are saying, you know, ‘This is David Beckham‘s son,’ and if I’m not as good as you, then it’s not good enough.’ I said, ‘Okay, stop right there… You play because you want to play’.
Who knew it was possible for Match of the Day to ever hold such sentimental value?! Oh Becks, you do strange things to us.
But before you start marking up a football pitch in your back garden out of respect for David and his football dreams (which so wasn’t our plan, what are you on about *awkwardly kicks ball away from foot*), there seems to be one Beckham that isn’t going to cave into the pressure…
Victoria Beckham recently spoke about daughter Harper, who appears to have some serious keepy-uppy aims in life.
Speaking to Good Morning America, 41-year-old Vics said ‘she loves fashion, you know, as all little girls do… but she loves sports. She said to me the other day ‘Mummy, I think I want to play football’…Dagger through the heart!’.
With the collaborated mini-Beckham’s CV already boasting a range of pretty high esteemed extra-curricular activities (we’re talking Vogue cover shoots here), we’re pretty sure Becks has nothing to worry about with his kids.
Because, you know… Vogue cover shoots and all that…
