It's a girl! The royal baby shares a birthday with David Beckham - could he be her godfather?

Finally, the royal baby - a princess – has been born safely and the nation is celebrating the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge‘s special arrival.
And Prince George‘s litte sister shares a birthday with someone very special – David Beckham!
Prince William and David are close friends having worked closely on England’s World Cup bid a couple of years ago. David and wife Victoria Beckham also attended the royal wedding four years ago when Posh was pregnant with daughter Harper.
Father-of-four David and William also teamed up to support United for Wildlife’s #WhoseSideAreYouOn campaign against illegal wildlife products.
When the Duchess of Cambridge‘s pregnancy was announced, David offered some words of advice to William and Kate, warning them to get more sleep before the baby arrives and describing them as ‘great parents’.
Now we reckon David – and Posh – would make perfect godparents to the princess. Imagine the playdates with Harper! And with little Harper, three, David is perfect to give advice to his royal friends and guidance in her upbringing.
And it really could happen – after all, Kate and William picked old school school and university friends instead of random royal cousins to be Prince George‘s godparents.
As Becks turns 40 today, both him and the fourth in line to the throne princess are both Taurus – dependable, persistent, loyal, patient and generous. Awww.
The Duchess of Cambridge was expected to give birth in April, telling well-wishers herself that she was due mid to late April. But she was several-days overdue meaning her daughter wasn’t born on the Queen‘s birthday on 21 April or William and Kate‘s wedding anniversary on 29 April.
David is celebrating the big 4-0 in Marrakech with his family and close celebrity friends at a huge bash.
Fashion designer Donatella Versace and actor David Suchet also have their birthdays today.
The official statement from Kensington Palace read:
Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daugher at 8.34am.
The baby weighd 8lb 3oz.
The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.
The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.
Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.
