David Beckham might be a global superstar (and winner of People’s Sexiest Man Alive title this year, let’s not forget) but when it comes to Christmas it seems he’s just like the rest of us.

The 40-year-old star is looking forward to spending the festive season with wife Victoria and their four children Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 13, Cruz, 10 and Harper, 4, and this week has been opening up about their cute family traditions. Awww.

‘I think like every other person’s Christmas it will be very normal,’ says David.

‘We open presents, we enjoy ourselves, we have a traditional Christmas dinner. So we’re exactly the same!

‘We always spend Christmas in London because it’s home and all of our family are here. We’re very traditional.’

Sounds lovely, can we snag an invite please Becks? No? Ah well, worth asking.

With his Christmas plans being so endearingly normal, we’d imagine David faces the same dilemmas as us at this time of the year too. Namely finding a present for that person who’s always really hard to buy for.

But whilst you might expect fashion designer Victoria, 41, to be a tricky one to pick a gift for given that she’s probably got EVERYTHING, Becks insists he’s got it covered.

‘She’s not actually [difficult to buy for],’ he tells BBC Breakfast. ‘I think when you’ve been with someone for so long, people do say that.

‘They turn round and say, “It must be so difficult to buy for Victoria” because she has a lot of things you’d think about going to buy for your wife or your girlfriend.

‘But actually I know her so well and I know the simple things she likes and enjoys, so she’s okay to buy for.’

Ooh, we wonder what Victoria will be getting from her man this year? Give us a clue, David!

David Beckham has only gone and done it again! Sorry, Brooklyn!

You know the deal- it happens every year.

Your dad has one too many of the mulled wines, gets a lil’ misty eyed then begins prancing around to your mums specially made Christmas album whilst you watch on in a daze.

And, whilst we may be past the ‘DAD OMG YOU’RE SO EMBARRASSING’ stage of our lives, this isn’t to say that the festive fiasco is anything but highly amusing.

And do you know what would make the annual-fatherly-festive-embarrassment *even* better? If the one and only David Beckham were our dad. But, like, not in a creepy way.

Serial offspring-embarasser Becks has been up to his usual tricks of late. The 40-year-old father of four has taken to Instagram to pull another of his infamous clever ones over son Brooklyn– and it is just marvellous.

Shared with all 17 million of Becks‘ followers, the post reads ‘Brooklyn looking his cool self… Sorry but I had to post this… Love you big boy’- as the poor 16-year-old poses with some kind of festive animal/human creature- perhaps our Christmas game is entirely not on fleek, because we just have no clue…

The snap has proved itself highly amusing to the followers of David, with comments reading ‘@DavidBeckham still settling the scores on this father and son war, loving the caption’, ‘Haha so cute’ and ‘I’m sure he’s loving it really!’. One less crimbo pressie for your old man, Brooklyn?

This is anything but the first time Becks has done a dad-trick (we’re calling it that from now on. Sorry, dad)- having most recently revealed his son had stolen his jumper in an Instagram picture Brooklyn posted.

If it’s any consolation, we’d nick your jumper too David. But again, not in a creepy way. *Ahem*

That’s right folks- our fave footie fiend Becks has allegedly forked out ONE-THOUSAND-POUNDS to have his favourite pie served to him whilst on board a flight to America.

As reported by The Sun, ‘[David] ordered from Tony’s Pie and Mash Shop in Waltham Abbey, Essex and the cost of serving it on board took the normal price of £4.45 to a jaw-dropping £1,000′. That right there is HELLA big pie goals, people.

The Sun also quoted the manager of a catering company, On Air Dining, cryptically revealing that ‘a sports star who used to fly back and forth from London while based in the US wanted pie and mash..It cost over £1,000 for us to get it, take it to the airport and get it through security’. Hmm….

As amusing as we’re finding all this pie talk, we’re also pretty sceptical that a fella as humble as Becks would fork out such an extortionate amount for a lil’ bit of mash- especially considering his rep has denied the claims.

Let’s just hope that Becks doesn’t like mash as much as a likes chocolate- we doubt even David could pull off the potato-face look…

If you could award knighthood’s to people for being HELLA sexy, this fella’ would have been knighted around seven already.

Unfortunately, people are not knighted solely for being sexy- they have to do nice things first and blah blah blah….

We know, we know… It’s all too much to process.So it’s lucky for us that David Beckham, as well as being ridiculously sexy, is a very very nice person and does the nice things required to gain knighthood.

And for those that missed Becks doing extremely nice things on TV last night (no excuses, people), allow us to update you on what the 40-year-old has been up too lately.

The father-of-four is fronting a very touching BBC documentary, The Love of The Game.

The show documented David embarking upon an epic journey across all seven of the continents, with the aim of playing a football match in each- a challenge which had to be completed in time for the retired footballer to make it home to Old Trafford for his own UNICEF fundraising match.

The journey saw Becks join communities in some incredibly remote places, such as a Djibouti refugee camp in Africa. Speaking of his travels, David shared that it was ‘shocking to see how children’s lives can be turned upside down as a result of conflict and violence and as a father it breaks my heart to see children living in such difficult circumstances’.

The project has touched so many, David is now the subject of many demanding a knighthood is awarded. One Twitter user shared, ‘David Beckham deserves a knighthood no question. Highlighting world poverty through the universal language of football. What a guy’.

VB and her youngest child exchange a look in the snap and it clearly melted David’s heart.

Victoria looks to be sporting a dark red number whilst Harper wears some more colourful swim gear.

The cute picture went down well with David’s fans and many praised mum-of-four VB for her impressive figure.

‘she’s had four kids, like how? ,’ one commented, whilst another simply wrote: ‘Lovely… Look how similar their profiles are. So special.’

It’s unclear where in the world the Beckhams are at the moment but it certainly looks good to us! Not that we’re jealous or anything…

The whole family seem to be having a good time though. Victoria and David’s eldest son Brooklyn has also been hitting the beach and took Harper along with him for a walk on the sand over the weekend.

It comes after the whole clan spent some quality time together over the festive period, with Victoria posting a sweet picture of the family during the celebrations.

Posh also cosied up with her man over the holidays and David shared a lovey shot of them sharing a kiss over New Year.

Most prominent on instagram is everyone’s favourite photographer, Brooklyn Beckham, who may have stolen the award for cutest picture ever with this adorable snap with his younger sister, Harper, four. The pair are hand-in-hand walking across a beautiful and empty beach.

He captioned it, ‘Special time with my lil sis. Love you <3’ and all our hearts melted. They’re so cute. We told you there’d be family feels.

Brooklyn also posted this fun picture of the Beckham and their friends, the Ramsay, clans on a seaplane. This image apparently contains every facial expression known to man.

While Brooklyn pokes his tongue out, Romeo, 13, is screaming just like his dad David behind him, sitting next to Gordon Ramsay. Which is great, because Harper is mimicking her mums teethless fashion gaze and it is. So. Cute. Cruz, 10, is taking the family modeling to a whole other level by Zoolandering the pic.

When the Beckham kids are naughty, it’s not David Beckham who dishes out the discipline. Instead, it’s Victoria who keeps things in order.

While speaking to Nick Grimshaw on his Radio 1 Breakfast Show, David revealed that his wife is the strict parent, and the kids Brookly, Romeo, Cruz and Harper are more scared of her than they are of him.

‘Victoria is the strict one. I think the kids are definitely more scared of Victoria than myself!’ he told Grimmy.

David wasn’t actually on the show to talk about his family life, though. He was there to promote his involvement with a charity football match, that’ll see him reuniting with his old manager Alex Ferguson – who once threw a shoe at his head – next month, to raise funds for UNICEF.

He also revealed that he’d like to see Grimmy don some football boots and join in the game!

‘I’d love you to come and play on the right wing if you can. I’m a big fan of your football skills,’ David told the host.

We reckon Grimmy will be a bit busy with his radio and X Factor commitments, but we’re looking forward to David’s return to the pitch!

How do we love thee, David Beckham? Let us count the ways...

After much consideration (which may or may not have included a good hour or starting at pictures of him in his pants), we’ve come to the conclusion that David Beckham is truly a perfect specimen of a man.

And we have good reason for thinking this. Nine of them, actually…

1. He knows that a cup of tea makes everything better

Just when you thought David Beckham couldn’t get any more perfect, he goes and does something like THIS.

The former footballer, proud dad and all-round beautiful man proved he’s a good samaritan this week when he surprised a paramedic and their elderly patient with a cup of tea served by his own fair hand.

Catherine Maynard was treating a pensioner who’d suffered a fall on the cold streets of Central London street on Monday (1 February) when Becks appeared with a round of hot drinks (we like to imagine there was also a ray of light shining on him from heaven at the time).

Catherine told reporters: ‘All of a sudden, I looked up and saw someone who looked like David Beckham walking past us. He said hello and got in his car. I said to the man I was treating, ‘I think that was David Beckham’.

‘Ten minutes later, he came back with a cup of coffee for me and a tea for the patient.’

‘We were both very amused, and flattered. It was awful cycling around in the cold and I couldn’t believe it when he came back with some hot drinks – I was so chuffed.’

What. A. Guy.

2. His family are his world

It only takes a quick glance at his Instagram feed to realise that David is allll about family. From proud-dad moments featuring children Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 13, Cruz, 10 and 4 year old Harper to lovey-dovey posts about wife Victoria, home is clearly where David’s heart is.

‘In my career there’s many things I’ve won, and many things I’ve achieved,’ he once said. ‘But my greatest achievement is my family.’

3. He’s not afraid to show his emotions

When Becks bowed out of his professional footy career for good, it was a super emotional moment. In his final moments on the pitch at French club Paris Saint Germaine, the star – who clocked up 27 trophies and 115 international appearances in his 20 year career – was visibly overwhelmed by the occasion, culminating in a wave of emotional tears as he left the pitch for the very last time. OH DAVID.

4. Being a good role model is his priority

When boxer Tyson Fury caused, well, fury over comments he made that were deemed to be misogynistic and homophobic, Saint David had some wise words of advice.

‘In the sporting world, when you’ve been successful, it’s a big thing, but it’s more important to be a good role model,’ he explained.

‘When you’re at the top, when you’re at the highest point in your sport, being a role model is even more important than anything else.’

Well said, Dave.

5. He uses his fame for the greater good

Becks has lent his name to numerous charities throughout his career, most notably UNICEF; he’s currently a Goodwill Ambassador for the children’s charity, and left us with a lump in our throat when he made an emotional speech about the suffering of children last year.

‘It breaks my heart to see the struggles that children and young people across the world face every day,’ he said.

Olive Beckham is arguably the cutest member of the famous family, and Becks clearly adores her, often sharing snaps of the chocolate brown cocker spaniel on his Instagram feed. And, as we all know, the only thing hotter than a gorgeous man is a gorgeous man with a dog. FACT.

8. He makes a point of giving back

When you’re already worth millions (as a family, the Beckhams are reportedly worth £508m), who needs an extra £170,000 a week? Not David, who generously gave his ENTIRE salary from his year at Paris Saint-Germain to local children’s charities – a whopping £3.4m, according to reports.

The Beckhams have been through worse than this...

David and Victoria Beckham’s marriage has been under speculation for months, with several sources hinting at the couple getting a divorce.

The latest rumour comes from The Sun, which reported that their marriage is danger because their work commitments this year will see them spending six months apart.

A source told the paper: ‘Despite the scrutiny their marriage has under, they’re not doing more things together. In fact, if anything, it’s getting worse.

‘They’re only going to be n the same country half of the time this year. It’s hard to see how they will manage to make it work.’

Justin Bieber may have just thrown shade at the least shadable man on the planet: David Beckham.

It looks like the music superstar has a problem with David’s tattoos! Specifically, it’s the lower back tattoo that doesn’t meet the Biebs exacting tat-standards.

When discussing his own inkings with GQ, the Sorry singer said: ‘I can’t say I feel lower back tattoos on a male or female. I think David Beckham has a lower tramp stamp.’

Tramp. Stamp. TRAMP STAMP. He said that David Beckham has a tramp stamp. But wait, he then points to the camera. He directly points through that lens at the footballer and you, the viewer, and says: ‘That’s no good.’

Wow. Our condolsences to the Beckham family after that sick burn.

Justin Bieber does explain the meaning to his ultra-famous tattoos the 21-year-old got during his transition from baby-faced sweetheart to the bad boy of pop.

His first tat was a seagull on his lower abdomen which he adorably calls a ‘little guy.’ He said: ‘It’s based on this book that my whole family read… and basically it’s about this seagull who wanted to be more than just a seagull.’

We think he’s talking about himself there.

Other significant inkings include his mum’s eye on his left arm and her birth date on his chest (cute). Though there’s that one of Selena Gomez on his wrist, which is awkward. He tried to hide her face with shading (of the technical variety) but as he admits, ‘people still know.’

David posted a picture of himself and younger sister Joanne as tots on Friday afternoon to celebrate her 34th birthday. The adorable pair are seen sitting on a bike together and giving some angelic smiles to the camera.

As if this picture wasn’t enough, David’s accompanying message is also super sweet:

‘Happy birthday sis… Sorry about the pic but you know I love ya… Have an amazing day. One of the sweetest girls you will ever meet that has the biggest heart’, David captioned the sweet Instagram shot.

As it turns out, Baby Becks + a beautiful tribute to his little sister = a whole lot of online love.

Burberry backlash sees the couple divided…

Just a skim through Brooklyn Beckham’s Instagram shows that not only does he have his mum’s pout, but also an eye for photography.

And while his shots can certainly raise a few impressed eyebrows, no one was expecting the first photography gig he landed to be with Burberry.

Shooting the iconic British fashion house’s fragrance campaign was a dream come true for the 16-year-old, but the family where left shocked when the Internet responded angrily to the unfair jump to the top, that David, 40, and 41-year-old Victoria’s eldest had had.

One leading photographer called the move ‘a devaluation of photography’ that showed a lack of respect for hardworking photographers, while another labeled it, ‘infuriating.’

And it’s not just the fashion world that found Brooklyn’s mega opportunity controversial, it’s also caused trouble at home, with David and Victoria fighting over how he approaches his career.

‘David and Victoria Beckham are at loggerheads over what to do with Brooklyn,’ a family insider tells us. ‘He is at such a crucial stage of his personal development and they have differing views over how best to proceed.’

And although David and Victoria have agreed on decisions regarding raising their children in the past, their own contrasting upbringings are now having an impact on their parenting.

‘David wants to allow Brooklyn to “stay young” for as long as possible, and not worry about career issues,’ says our source. ‘But at the same time he wants his son to learn the value of money, and not to assume that he will be handed life on a platter. In David’s terminology he doesn’t want Brooklyn to be a “silver spoon” kid.

‘David grew up with nothing and worked his way to the top – there’s a lot to be said for that. Victoria, however, who had millionaire parents and was very much indulged as a child, wants to bring Brooklyn on board Brand Beckham right away. Hence the Burberry photography contract – which was as blatant an example of nepotism as you will see.’

According to our source, the biggest bone of contention comes from David being sensitive towards the outside world viewing Brooklyn as ‘spoilt’, and all their efforts to raise grounded children being undone.

‘Victoria thinks it’s great – David thinks it’s not going to be good for Brooklyn in the long run. He doesn’t want people thinking his son is spoilt. So far they’ve done a great job of bringing up well-mannered kids who are a credit to them.

‘But Brooklyn is only human, and with everything coming to him so easily David is worried he’ll take it for granted and get lazy. There is a major difference of opinion right now, and the arguments are only going to get worse.’

Hmm, can’t they just send him back to work in that coffee shop in Notting Hill and be done with it?

Actually if the Beckhams’ pet dog Olive was in the shot it might add that extra shot of adorbs, but we can totally accept it as it is.

Little Harper is seen reaching up to the sink in the photo as she models the number 7 shirt made famous by Becks during his footie days.

It seems especially fitting that Harper is wearing the 7 shirt, given that he middle name is indeed Seven.

David made the number famous when he was at Manchester United but switched to wearing the 23 shirt when he left the club for Real Madrid in 2003.

He hung up his boots in 2013 but it looks like Harper is keen on following in his sporty footsteps rather than mum Victoria‘s fashionista path.
